This was one of the more spectacular meteors I have chanced to see. Fortunately I was driving north pre-dawn away from any light pollution and it appeared exactly in my field of view. It lasted long enough for me to realize that it was not an aircraft nor satellite, so I got a good clear look at it.

The fireball briefly separates into 2 sections at the head: the smaller section was behind and a little below the main section. The smaller section persisted very briefly and had a bluish cast. The main section may have had a blue tint to the stern area.
